OHIO VOTER ID LAWS
THE ONLY ID YOU NEED IS AN UNEXPIRED DRIVERS LICENSE, EVEN IF IT HAS A DIFFERENT ADDRESS ON IT.
Do not let anyone at the polling places tell you differently.
From the Secretary of State webpage:
Election Day Voting
Note: Ohio law provides you cannot use as proof of identification a notice that the board of elections mailed to you. Voters who do not provide one of these documents will still be able to vote by provisional ballot.
- A current and valid photo identification (i.e. Ohio driver’s license, state ID, government ID). Photo identification must show name and address (does not need to be current address for driver’s license); or
- A military identification that shows the voter’s name and current address; or
- A copy of a current utility bill (including cell phone bill), bank statement, government check, paycheck, or other government document that shows the voter’s name and current address (including from a public college or university).
Go prepared just in case but if your ID has a different address (like your parents' address) and you don't have anything else, legally, you DO NOT NEED the additional ID as long as your license has not expired. This information comes to me from an election observer for tomorrow. They will be in several polling places. They are able to discuss the laws with the poll workers, find out if one is in your polling place if you run into trouble! There was confusion with the voter ID legislation which Jennifer Brunner, the Ohio Secretary of State, has since issued additional directives on.
If someone gives you hassle and you know you're in the right, REPORT IT IMMEDIATELY.
Columbus Dispatch election day hotline: 614-469-6009
Voting Rights Institute: 1-877-VOTE-VRI
Franklin County Board of Elections: 614-462-3100 (if voting in Franklin County)
Voters must bring identification to the polls in order to verify identity. Identification may include a current and valid photo identification, a military identification that shows the voter's name and current address, or a copy of a current utility bill, bank statement, government check, paycheck, or other government document, other than this reminder or a voter registration notification, that shows the voter's name and current address. Voters who do not provide one of these documents will still be able to vote by providing the last four digits of the voter's social security number and by casting a provisional ballot. Voters who do not have any of the above forms of identification, including a social security number, will still be able to vote by signing an affirmation swearing to the voter's identity under penalty of election falsification and by casting a provisional ballot.

$410 1BR on E. 14th, great for an OSU student!
Are you looking for a spacious apartment? Do you dislike laundromats? Not a fan of parallel parking? Looking for a quiet space? Check out my apartment!
I'm looking for someone to take over my lease running from September 1, 2007 - August 27th, 2008. You also have the option of taking over my lease starting in late spring/early summer 2007. (negotiable) I LOVE my apartment and my landlord is fabulous, which is why I signed on for yet another year. (I've been living here since end of August '05) I was offered a position to be a live-in au pair and would love to take it, which is why I'm looking for someone to fill my apartment.
This is not your typical tiny 1BR. I have a full-sized bed, 2 bookshelves, standard kitchen table (not in kitchen) with 3 chairs, recliner, sofa, loveseat, wardrobe, dresser, end table, and a coffee table in here. (note: the funiture isn't part of the deal except for the wardrobe, I'm just letting you know the size of the place!)
new tile flooring in kitchen/bathroom
hardwood floors in living and bedrooms
new, clean full-sized stove
LOTS of cabinet space and nice counter space -- both of which are hard to find in 1BR units!
2 large rooms for living
full-sized basement with FREE washer and dryer and lots of storage space
I also have a large wardrobe closet of my own that I would be willing to leave with the apartment for closet space.
all new miniblinds
anti-mold paint in bathroom -- no dingy mess here!
NEW windows with screens
high efficiency furnace! I have yet to have an insane gas bill.
FREE off-street parking for you and your guests
1 cat OK
My landlord is great. He's an individual who has rental properties with a mission to help fix up the neighborhood. You don't have to worry about being stuck with a rental agency that doesn't care. He has fixed the few issues I've had ASAP and has always been extremely kind.
This apartment is GREAT for a homebody, grad student, or anyone else who appreciates their own apartment in a quiet neighborhood. (there is also a block watch program in effect) Close enough to campus to be in walking distance of all the fun, far enough away to live in peace. This is in the 400 block of E. 14th Ave. The neighborhood has a nice mix of students and families.
Please email me if you are interested in checking it out. I am going to get pictures up ASAP so also shoot me an email if you'd be interested in seeing the pictures when I have them, I can email them to you or direct you to the updated ad.
Call at XXXXXXXXXX removed, my name is Cassandra or shoot me an email at firstname.lastname@example.org.

SPARC OHIO 2005
(Students Praying for Awakening and Revival on Campus)
Hello everyone!! Well, I’m honored to inform you that our God has immeasurable power.
On November 4th -5th at Liberty Barn Church (7080 Olentangy River Road Delaware, OH 43015), college students from all over Ohio are meeting to pray and fast for God to intervene in Ohio and cause an awakening. Registration begins at 8:00PM on the 4th, Things will get going with some worship and a speaker at 9:00PM. On Saturday, up by 9AM with more worship, prayer, fellowship, etc and out of the church at 9PM that night. Leaving early or coming late? Come and go as necessary.
I would like to remind us all that this is for ALL students in Ohio who believe in and follow Jesus, and would like to pray for His Spirit to sweep across Ohio and on our campuses with revival and awakening! So please let friends at other campuses know about it and let the word spread like wildfire. If you'd like pre-made flyers to hang up on your campuses or in your area, email email@example.com
Our responsibility lies only in providing the opportunity- paving the way- for people to come. We are to be like John the Baptist, making way for the King to move. Remember that our time is now severely limited, as we now only have about a month to get word to the whole state. This is the time in which we must rise to the occasion, it is clutch time- crunch time. 'The time for talk and half measures is over,' as Maximus (Gladiator) would put it.
As if I need to underline it, but prayer is our most valuable weapon, so let's use it for all it's worth!
Can you feel it? God is moving- the time is now, our roles are crucial. Let's rock and roll!!!!
Sis in JC,
If you have any questions, please email firstname.lastname@example.org or go to ohiosparc.blogspot.com!
Joel 1:14-15 “14Announce a time of fasting; call the people together for a solemn meeting. Bring the leaders and all the people into the Temple of the LORD your God, and cry out to him there. 15The day of the LORD is on the way, the day when destruction comes from the Almighty. How terrible that day will be!”

I moved to the near-campus area a few weeks ago, and lately I've been seeing pieces of furniture in dumpsters and smashed in people's yards. Please don't throw it away! I could use some of it!
If you have and need to get rid of any of the following, please comment here!
I will pay a reasonable price for any of these items!!
- kitchen table/folding table
(Pictures and asking prices would be helpful)

So, I need tyo buy a car. I am looking for a used Honda or Toyota in decent condition. Basically I just need a car to get me places that I can rely on.
Anybody know of anyone who is selling or where I could look besides the Dispatch?
I am trying to find one at no more than $3000.
I would really like to buy from an owner, but if anyone knows any good dealerships what wont rip you off, that would be helpful
Thanks so much! :)

I was wondering if you guys could tell me if it is better to live close to the campus or further away (the apartments seem nicer and cheaper further away from school). I am a sculpture graduate student and am moving from Richmond, VA (where all the landlords are slumlords). I have spent 5 years living in crappy student apartments and am tired of it. Any suggestions for nice apartments?
Also, how is parking at the school? Is it better to ride the bus?

Hey, my name is Anna and my two friends and I currently interested in searching for another roommate. One of the four us is likely going to be studying abroad in Spain first quarter, so we would ideally like someone who will only be living with us for autumn quarter. Longer arrangements may be possible (if our friend in fact does stay in Spain for a while), and we could be open to other housing situations.
All of us (Anna, Weifei, Anjie, and Ashley [who will most likely be studying in Spain]) are currently freshmen but with sophomore standing. In general, we are all fairly involved with campus life, taking around 20 credit hours and going to classes in the morning and afternoon. We are each in a slew of different organizations and have pretty similar majors mostly involving Business and East Asian Studies. We don't mind people who party, but we'd prefer no excessive drinking, and absolutely NO smoking in our house or apartment (currently we have about five different ideas lined up but are going hunting this weekend.) We are open-minded to anyone, lots of fun and easy-going, and we leave on the weekends at random, but usually not very often.
We are searching for another student who is trustworthy, low-maintenance, tolerant, compatible, financially stable and fun to be around. We want people who are fairly clean and responsible (unfortunately we spend a lot of time studying, so partying all the time would likely end up creating friction) but is still social and outgoing. We do not have pets, we do not mind visitors, and some of us even like to cook; we are involved in everything from the mountaineers to karate to the OUAB.
It would be ideal if we could find someone who only wanted to live with us for ONE QUARTER (and we could be much more flexible here!) but if not we could possibly make arrangements. So, if anybody is interested or knows ANYBODY who would be open to something like this, please pass this on.
